THE PRIORITY IS ROMA

(IN THE PHOTO: Allegri during today’s press conference)
MILAN – Here’s what the Rossoneri coach had to say in today’s press conference at the Milanello sports centre:
“I don’t think about the past. At the moment we have some players out injured. I’m lucky enough to have a big squad as we saw in Turin, but the injuries don’t give the players who play often a chance to catch their breath. The importance of this game is that from tomorrow evening, there’ll be only 9 games left. It’s important to maintain the advantage that we have. We won’t think about Barcelona as we’re focused on Roma. We showed in Turin that we’re not making any calculations regarding that game. Roma play well when in possession and they’ve improved their performance when they don’t have the ball. They’re more alert in defense and haven’t conceded n the last two games. They’ll have Totti back tomorrow and they’ve a lot of young players who have matured since the first half of the season. They’re fighting for third place so we’ll have to play a good game from a technical point of view with high levels of intensity and concentration.“Their style is to play good football but compared to a month and a half ago, they’re conceding very little, much less than before. Luis Enrique is a very good coach with clear ideas. He’s wide awake and he’s understood that Roma have to defend better. How can <I convince Galliani in the coming years? Only by winning. We’re doing well on all fronts but we have to keep string because Juventus won’t give in. Next year we want to play for the second star (representing 20 league wins). Boateng and Aquilani are both available. On Tuesday, Aquilani ended the game better than he started it. I’ll have to decide if Boateng starts from the start or from the bench. I’ll evaluate everything after training. El Shaarawy will probably start with Ibrahimovic up front.I spoke with the president on Saturday at Parma and he asked me about the injuries. I think a lot of these injuries have been the result of clashes, traumatic injuries rather than muscular ones. Of course it’s something that we should improve. Juve-Inter? I’m thinking of ym game. A win would mean at least a four point lead and after that we’ll see. But the title won’t be won tomorrow. Over 90 minutes against Juventus we won but I’m not interested in the unbeaten record. I don’t have any transfer regrets either. I want to be in front on 13 May. Now the priority is Roma and they won’t be easy to play against. Robinho is out tomorrow, we‘ll see if he’ll be back for the Barcelona game. Thiago Silva has some muscular fatigue but it shouldn’t be a problem for tomorrow. Mesbah did well against Juventus and of course it’s normal that you get the good with the bad. Now he’s calmer, he has a lot of room for improvement. El Shaarawy is still only 19, he doing great things and there’ll be highs and lows in his growth. Despite the injuries, we’re on top of the table, testament to how well the club has done in recent years. The players have quality and character. Pato? The only certain case study is that he only gets injured at the San Siro. When you talk about human beings, science also leaves space for the psyche and there are no other certainties than that. Time and experience will improve everyone, especially myself. After the game in London I spent some time reflecting on what happened. I consider myself fortunate to be coaching Milan and to go for the league title as well as being in the Champions League with Barcelona a team that has to be faced with courage and balance.”

LUIS ENRIQUE: "We can beat Milan, but we’ll need to play a perfect game."

MILAN - Luis Enrique's press conference has just come to a close. Here's some of what he had to say: "We are able to beat a team like Milan but we'll need to be at 100%, and play almost a perfect game. A win at San Siro would be a big boost but to do it we'll have to play at an incredible level."Click here to read the press conference in full at the A.S. Roma website.
