After having been put off due to unfavorable weather conditions twice already, the eight edition of the Milan golf Tour 2012 got underway at the Carimate Golf Club with the participation of Daniele Massaro, Lea Pericoli, Claudio Chiappucci, Marco Bellavia and Giorgio Mastrota. The course conditions as well as the weather were perfect.16 teams are taking part at one of the most exclusive golf courses in northern Italy. Teams are made up of four players using the stableford formula. The final of this year’s tournament will take place at Arzaga Golf Club where the best teams will play for the title. Here’s the score so far:1° PAR 72 – 82 POINTS – SAVINELLI, GALLI, MASTROTA, FLORIBETH2° IL GIORNALE – 80 POINTS – FAVARI, COLOMBO, OMODEO, MINARDI DE MICHETTI3° IL MONDO DEL GOLF – 79 POINTS – ROCCATAGLIATA, KOOK, TARANTINO, SEMIANI All proceeds from this year’s tournament go to “The FA.T.A House”, a project that provides for children in difficulty who have been put into care. The courses are some of the most prestigious in the country, added to this is the chance to take part alongside some of the personalities from the club’s past and present, leading to a more substantial corporate appeal. ALWAYS WITH US

May 10th, 2012 No comments
MILAN – Here’s what Alessandro Nesta had to say in today’s press conference:"This is my last season at Milan, I’m leaving. When the season finishes, I think of the next one and the pace of the games doesn’t allow to play all the time and since I’m not able to sit on the bench, I’ve made this decision after 10 years where I‘ve always been happy, I’ve met great people and I’ve won so much. I want to go and try a different experience where I can still do something good.”“I always want to be important when playing. If I can’t play all the time, I don’t feel good and it’s the right decision to leave. I decided around February that this would be the last season, I spoke with the club and it’s all fine.”I haven’t yet signed anything and I don’t know where I’ll go. It wouldn’t be bad to cross the ocean. There won’t be any other chances.”“We all hoped to win the league because it was within reach, so there is disappointment. There’s a lot to evaluate for the future of the club, based on who stays and who goes.”I’ve been coming to training at Milanello for 10 years. I want to thank everyone for all these years and I’ll miss everyone. The players that I’ve played with for so many years, those that I’m most attached to, I’ll miss them in footballing terms.”“I think I’m a serious player and I’ve tried to improve myself every day of my career.”“Ancelotti was the most important coach of my career, for what we won and how we won. He made it seem like he was your team mate. My first Champions League title was the most beautiful win of my career.”

NESTA AND A.C. MILAN

May 10th, 2012 No comments
MILAN - Alessandro Nesta became a Rossoneri player on the last day of the 2002 transfer window, Saturday 31 August. It was an electric day. The day after, Nesta traveled from the balcony of the Gallia Hotel to underneath the Curva Sud beside Inter’s Hernan Crespo in a friendly derby between the two Milanese teams. After making his debut against Modena on 14 September 2002, Alessandro and Milan have made history together. A proud and intense history going back to the Rossoneri qualification for the Champions League group stages at the expense of Slovan Liberac. With Nesta at the heart of the defense, Milan won 2 Champions League titles as well as playing in another final, semi-final and 2 quarter finals.2 league titles, 4 Supercups (2 Italian, 2 European), and an Italian cup were all added to the club with Nesta in the side. Fans will remember in particular his goal in the World Club Cup Final inn 2007 against Boca Juniors in 2007. The game was tied at 1-1 and I took Alessandro to get his team on the winning track. After a long term back injury in the 2008-2009 season, Nesta, thanks to his own inner strength and with the help of his family, went on to play 3 more seasons with his head held high and wearing the Rossoneri shirt.
