ONLY ONE RESULT

May 5th, 2012 No comments
MILANELLO – Here’s what the coach had to say in his pre-match press conference ahead of Inter-Milan on Sunday evening at 20.45:“I don’t what kind of Inter side we’ll meet but based on the last two matches, they’ll be an attacking side as they’re still in the fight for third place and tomorrow is a derby which is always a very particular game and for us there’s only one result of any use and that’s three points. We have to win but that doesn’t we’ll play unbalanced.Inter’s objective is to stay in the race for Champions League football and Cagliari will want to play a big game as well but we should be the ones with more motivation. Objectively, tomorrow evening, whoever is on top of the table will have the title won.”“Tomorrow will be different to Wednesday because once we took the lead with Juventus in the lead as well, it was hard to see them conceding an equalizer, then with five minutes left the league opened up again. We have to win tomorrow otherwise we’ll give them the title.”“These are different days to the days before Wednesday as now we’re only a single point off them. We have the derby ahead of us which is always a special game and we have the chance to get past Juventus as well even of their destiny is still in their own hands.”“In order to keep our hopes alive, we have to win and Cagliari have to avoid defeat but we have to think about winning regardless of Juventus. Then we’ll get to the last day with the title race still open even if I don’t think the last game will affect the standings. And of course we have to get back to winning after we lost the last derby.”“To be at a point’s distance from Juventus with two games left after a season like this one, I think the players have really done something important, but we’ll wait until tomorrow evening before looking at the balance sheet.”“It’s fro today that the players have to get the right mindset for the gamer tomorrow and we have to get there as calm as possible. We’ll have to play with enthusiasm and courage knowing that we have the ability to win and then we’ll see what the other team does. There’s no need for excessive levels of tension because the team with something to lose is Juventus.”“From a tactical point of view, we have to play better than we have in the last few games. We’ll have to play better in attack and defense and we’ll have to be patient.”“I’ll evaluate the players’ condition today. Physically the team is fine and obviously being a point from the top going into the derby, motivation is not a problem. It’ll be a great evening tomorrow and abreat game to play and at 11 o’clock we’ll have the verdict. Tomorrow evening is the most important of the season.”“Abate was given a rest on Wednesday. He’ll be on the pitch tomorrow and he should be calm because a single mistake doesn’t change what I think of a player.”“Thiago Silva won’t play. Nesta will play with one of Bonera, Mexes or Yepes. Nesta is in good shape and it’ll be up to him if it’s his last derby.”“I’ve always felt the President has had faith in me. After losing the top spot there was disappointment and bitterness because we could see the league getting away from us while Juventus is achieving something important. Conte is doing a great job, he’s on top of the table and he’s up against Milan. At the moment they’re favorites and I send him my compliments regardless of how the season ends.”“Cagliari, like all the rest of the teams in the league, have a duty to do their best to get a result.”“I’ll decide tomorrow if Cassano will start or not, but I’m very happy with his return.”“I think that Delio Rossi will have regretted what happened a fraction of a second after the fact. I’m very sorry and you need to understand the situation and sometimes there needs to be more respect from the players towards the coach. It’s a stressful job. Everyone makes mistakes but I think the basis of everything, manners and respect are two fundamental things. Many would say that today’s society has changed for the worse and maybe we should go back to the past a little.”

SPONSOR DAY: SUCCESSFUL NUMBERS

May 3rd, 2012 No comments
(IN THE PHOTO: Marco Bogarelli and Adriano Galliani pose with the new team jersey) MILAN – The 8th edition of Sponsor day took place today at the Palazzo Giureconsulti with both A.C. Milan and Infront Italy presenting the commercial results obtained in the course of the season and the plans for the 2012/2013 season.Adriano Galliani (club CEO) and Marco Bogarelli, president of Infront Italy (Italian leader in sports right management) were on hand to present the results of the season as well as plans for the future. Infront will be a Milan partner until 2016 in the planning and management of marketing and advertising as well as providing strategic consultancy for the promotion of sponsors and corporate hospitality. Thanks to the ‘less is more’ philosophy, the results achieved over the past season have been more than satisfactory for the club and its partners who have been able to count on specific and personalized programs.A.C. Milan and Infront together propose a ‘Tailor Made’ approach to the club’s partners where the quality of the sponsorship is at the centre of every consideration along with the needs of the client both in Italy and in the foreign markets where they operate.“This model confirms the avante garde position that the club maintains in the service our sponsors both in terms of specific and personalized programs as well as the improvement of infrastructure, in particular the improvements to the stadium, to the services offered and in corporate hospitality in general” said Adriano Galliani, Milan’s CEO.“Like last year, our strategy is to aim at a small number of sponsors that we can give better visibility to” added Marco Bogarelli, Infront Italy president, “offering increased visibility using digital means as well as the traditional economic offer.”During the course of the day, the new offers that the club is capable of offering its clients were also unveiled. In addition to the changes in the online offer, the club also proposes ad hoc sponsorship projects to meet the needs of every partner. “Sponsorship modeled on the stadium public to offer the clubs partners not only increased visibility but better visibility in line with the sponsors’ requirements” concluded Galliani.Awareness of the changes underway in sports communications has allowed Milan, together with Infront to implement specific digital multimedia strategies. With a significant increment from the website as well as through social media channels, the aim for the next season is to follow the development of digital platforms refining the club’s offer.“The centralized sales of Serie A rights on an international scale and the increase in traffic on the official site and on social networks has had meant a decisive increase in contacts both in Italy and abroad where the partners can gain privileged access thanks to the club,” confirmed Bogarelli.Among other improvements for the next season, the club is working on dedicated spaces for corporate hospitality within the San Siro with the aim of bringing the stadium offer closer to the European standards offering more comfort and an improved atmosphere.

ADRIANO GALLIANI: "I’m not a prophet but we did well not to give in."

May 3rd, 2012 No comments
MILANO - Adriano Galliani, spoke to the gathered journalists at the Palazzo dei Giureconsulti during Sponsor Day today:“Turnover makes the difference in modern football. We’ve grown a lot and we’re happy but the 4 semi-finalists in this year’s Champions League are among the top five in turns of overall income. Against Barcelona we had a lot of injuries and we were unlucky. We always get the Spanish sides, but there’s no use having regrets. I was in the changing rooms when Lecce scored. I couldn’t believe it, I thought it was another practical joke, but it wasn’t. I’m no prophet and I don’t talk about the future. I’ll only say that we’re having a great year like last season. We did well not to give when it looked like all was lost. We have to win the next two matches and then we’ll see. The head-to-head matches always make the difference. Last year we beat Inter twice and picked up 6 points which were decisive. We can talk about Muntari’s goal against Juventus at the end of the season, not now. But in my cell phone I have a photo of that goal just as I have a photo of Robinho’s goal against Catania. I look at the first one more than the second. I don’t want to talk about the transfer market; there’ll be time between 14 May and 31 August. No there’s no point.”“A cold San Siro? Unfortunately, on Wednesday evening’s not many fans show up, mor tickets are sold for other times. We don’t have a culture of midweek games in the league, only in the Champions League. I speak with president Berlusconi, we talk about everything. He has given so much passion to the club, economically as well bringing it all the way to the top of the world. Allegri? We’ve been on top since he’s arrived. We0’re not getting tired. I don’t see where the fatigue is. We won the title a year ago, we’re a single point away from Juventus with 159 points in two years. I can’t see any problem there. He has a style of play that allows the wingers to score a lot.”  “The Lega president called me this morning to ask about the possibility of playing the same time as Juventus. It was never a problem for me and I gave my agreement. As regards San Siro, I believe there’s agreement between Inter and Milan to put down a mixed natural-synthetic surface and it should be played in time for next season. We’ll be looking at all the players performance levels at the end of the season to analyze their condition.”
