BARBARA BERLUSCONI: “MILAN ARE ALWAYS CAPABLE OF BIG MOVES”

MILAN - Barbara Berlusconi has spoken: "This operation has demonstrated that Milan can still invest substantial amounts in top players. Our club has, in the last year or so, completely reorganised costing and investments. It was about rationalisation, and various sacrifices were needed, not just in terms of player's salaries but also about re positioning the brand. Milan were the first club to choose to organise their accounts and balance the books. Thanks to this strong decision, we can only stand to benefit with our stars of the future, and still also be able to make some important aqcuisitions.

ROBINHO: “THIS IS A CRUCIAL MOMENT IN THE SEASON”

MILAN – This is the exclusive statement from Robinho for Milan Channel:
“There’s enthusiasm in the changing room and we’re getting better. There are still plenty of games to go and every three points will help us move up the table. The beginning of the campaign wasn’t good, and once more the Italian league is proving to be difficult but at the moment we’re experiencing a good run of form in this crucial point of the season, and with 16 games to go anything is possible. We can’t afford to slip up anymore and Udinese will be difficult but we’re prepared. Mario Balotelli is a great player and will definitely help the squad. We’re happy he’s arrived and we’re all going to welcome him. Let’s hpe he does well for Milan".

It will be the Official when it’s on the Club Site…but this is piece from Soccernet helps!

Manchester City struck a deal Tuesday to send beleaguered striker a href=”http://soccernet.espn.go.com/player/_/id/100681/Mario-Balotelli”>Mario Balotelli to AC Milan pending Balotelli’s approval, according to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 22-year-old striker’s deal is worth 4 million euros ($5.3 million) per year through 2017, plus bonuses, according to the report.

Balotelli sent a text message to friends saying: “I’m coming,” according to the Italian newspaper.

Manchester City has made no comment, according to Press Association reports.

Balotelli’s agent, Mino Raiola, was in Manchester on Tuesday, The Guardian reported Tuesday.

Sky Italia reported Monday that AC Milan made an official bid.

According to Sky, Milan offered 24 million euros ($32.2 million), which would be paid in six installments for the duration of the proposed 4½-year contract.

Information from Press Association was used in this report.

Balotelli cost $37.7 million when he signed from Inter Milan in August 2010, according to Press Association reports.

City manager Roberto Mancini has consistently said his fellow Italian is not for sale throughout this month’s transfer window but that has not quashed rumours linking him with the San Siro giants.

A CRUCIAL PLAYER

Riccardo Montolivo spoke exclusively to Milan Channel yesterday evening at an event in Pavia to promote sport amongst youngsters. The Milan midfielder spoke about his new role in the team which is a reason why the team have been doing so well of late."I like playing in the role I have been given at Milan, it allows me to be at the centre of the game, I have to control the game and it is possibly more important than the attacking element. I just try to create the move that will lead to an attack. It is a crucial role and I know I cannot make mistakes, I have to play with confidence. Some teams like to man mark me during the game, I know that."One element that has worked in favour of the rossoneri is the fact that the team have only been playing once a week for the last month or so and this has allowed the players to concentrate on the game in hand."Having more time to train means we can go through tactics with more care, we can avoid injuries, because some games certainly have a higher risk of injury than others. Playing only one game a week makes life easier, we are moving in the right direction and we are becoming a team."This has led to the team creating their own identity on the pitch."Considering the poor state of the pitch on sunday it was important to give balance to the team. After the sending off we tried to control the match rather than trying to score the second goal, which is something we have to improve. We tried to control the game rather than really attack Atalanta. As far as our game goes we are more consistent than in recent months where before we only managed to play well for a part of the match. We are creating our own identity. As a playmaker I get to play a lot of balls, and this way we play with two wide attackers while Pazzini is slowly adapting to the way the team plays. He has already scored 10 goals which isn't bad."This weekend Milan will host Udinese at the San Siro in a match between two teams that have got over difficult starts to the season."We had some difficulties at the start but the results show we have overcome them. Udinese are also making up for a difficult start and they have some quality players back like Muriel. their coach prepares the games very well and they will know how to do well against us. We have to be ready."

MONTOLIVO: WE ARE READY FOR UDINESE
