2010-2011: 33.000 SEASON TICKETS SOLD FOR THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

MILAN – Excitement is growing amongst the Rossoneri fans! It’s obvious, seeing the constant and significant growth in the sale of Champions League season tickets, meaning that there’s still a special link between Milan and the European scene: only during the course of today, more than 5.530 season tickets were sold for the team’s Champions League home games, for a total of 33.000. That means more than 5.000 season tickets sold a day after the arrivals of Ibrahimovic and Robinho! In comparison, last year’s final result was 22.103. In the meantime, around 500 Serie A season tickets were sold today, for a total of almost 25.000, compared to 25.859 a year ago. The Ibra-Ro effect continues!

MILAN SCHOOL IN PORTO: SUCCESS RIGTH FROM THE START!

MILAN – Milan’s first Football School in Portugal has opened amidst great enthusiasm in Porto. On the occasion of the event, at the Estádio do Bessa Sec. XXI, present were Filippo Glalli and Mauro Pederzoli. The first practice was conducted by Milan coach and head of scouting in Portugal, Miguel Pinho. Around 260 kids, between the ages of 4 and 16, took part in the training session, in front of about 800 spectators.

TIM YOUTH TEAM’S SUPERCUP: TICKET SALE

MILAN – Giovanni Stroppa’s team will play against Genoa’s Youth Team in the TIM Youth Team’s Supercup on Thursday, September 9. The match is scheduled for 20.30 CET, at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium: tickets for the game are already available in the network of Lottomatica throughout Italy; tickets for the Guest Sector cost 6 Euro. SCIREA TROPHY: MILAN WON THE CUP!

MILAN – Coach Bertuzzo’s team won the 21st edition of the “Scirea Trophy” after beating Roma 1-0 in the final. The lone goal was scored by Molfetta from a Fabbro cross. Milan won the competition, organised for the national giovanissimi ’96, for the fifth time. The Rossoneri’s last triumph before this one came in 2006. The MVP award, handed over by Paolo Malidini, went to Milan midfielder Alessandro Mastalli.

5-0 FRIENDLY MATCH VICTORY FOR CESENA

MILAN – Cesena’s first team beat the club’s Youth Team 5-0 in yesterday’s friendly played at the “A. Rigoni” Sports Centre in Villa Silvia. The Bianconeri opened the scoring in the second minute as Giuseppe Colucci converted a penalty, awarded for Fonte’s foul on Giaccherini. The latter scored himself from the spot in the 36st minute, after earning a penalty for the second time in the game. Ighalo made it 3-0 at the end of the first half. Malonga (‘7) and Sinigaglia (‘17) added one each in the second half.

MILAN IN SCIREA FINAL

MILAN -  Second consecutive for Milan against Juventus at youth level. After the final "Carlin’s Boys" win on penalties, the youth Rossoneri defeated the Bianconeri 3-1 in the semi-finals of the Scirea Tournament. The event is for the national giovanissimi and coach Bertuzzo’s side went ahead through Derosa, Lo and Auletta with Pira scoring for Juve. The final will be this evening at 21.00 against Roma who defeated Torino 1-0.

 

CARLIN’S BOYS: MILAN WINS THE CUP!

MILAN – Milan’s National Allievi, coached by Cesare Beggi, won the 53rd edition of the prestigious Carlin’s Boys Cup after beating Sampdoria in a penalty shoot-out. After convincing performances against Slovenian side Luka Koper (3-0) and Imperia (11-0), the Rossoneri lost their third match against Sampdoria. In the semifinal, however, the Rossoneri saw of Juventus in a penalty shoot-out, advancing to the final. Against the Blucerchiati, Milan took the lead at the 31st minute, thanks to goal from Speziale, but Sampdoria managed to equalise later on. The result didn’t changed in extra time, thus the game had to be decided from the spot. Eventually, Milan won the game 6-5 in a penalty shoot-out.

MILAN ACADEMY: THE REFRESHER COURSE IS OVER

MILAN – The refresher course organised by the Milan Academy for 31 Italy-based coaches of the Rossoneri Football Schools. One week of theorhetical and practical lessons were given, in order to create a group of highly qualified coaches, who work for the the more than eighty clubs taking part in this project of A.C. Milan. „This course is an important part of Milan’s intensive training programme. Courses will be organised all season with the goal of passing on the training methods and know-how of Milan to coaches of all the eighty affiliates” – explained Michele Ferraris, head of the Milan Junior project and coordinator of the Milan Football Schools.
