MILAN - Here's what Vincenzo Montella had to say to the press ahead of Milan-Fiorentina tomorrow afternoon:
"The compliments from Galliani were pleasing but we have to keep our feet on the ground. This week we’re been on the receiving end of a lot of flattery and that could be bad. We have to remember that tomorrow we’ll be up against a great team with great players who can change the game in an instant. Aquilani is doing much better but he doesn’t have 90 minutes in his legs yet. Montolivo is an international player with great qualities. The absence of Jovetic tomorrow is disappointing because it’s a big game but we should be able to deal with his absence. Milan are not in a crisis at the moment as they’ve found results and good play recently. At 13 years old, I was a Milan fan. I used to like Sacchi’s team and my idol was Van Basten. El Shaarawy is growing up fast, he’s a player who works really hard even in defense”.

MASSIMO AMBROSINI TO THE MILAN CHANNEL: "The coach managed a difficult period well"
MILAN - Massimo Ambrosini spoke to the Milan Channel today. Here’s some of what he had to say:
“I think that the management of the difficult period that we went through was impeccable by all parts of the club including the coach who was very good. He put himself on the line and showed that he has a certain type of humility. Changing the formation was a way to look for a solution to the situation. The management from the club was ideal as well. Coming out defending him openly in every opportunity gave the team a sense of certainty. In a moment like that it was important to stay compact and the fans were exemplary in this as well. I don’t how many other clubs could count on that type of support from the fans. Us players as well were never anything less than committed”.
“Betting on the players and coach who knows how to manage these situations is a credit to the club. They did well in standing by the coach, a man with whom I have a very clear relationship. Even more so this year as alongside Yepes, I’m the oldest player”.
