May 5th, 2012 No comments
MILAN – According to the official Inter Milan website, here’s some of what coach Andrea Stramaccioni had to say in today’s press conference ahead of Inter-Milan on Sunday evening:"11 players will take to the pitch and it’s my job to get the most out of them both physically and mentally. We want to win and I won’t speculate on their desire to get a result. It’s a question of objectives and because it’s a derby. The game could be all the better because of this, it’s a game that’s impossible to calculate beforehand.”

ONLY ONE RESULT

May 5th, 2012 No comments
MILANELLO – Here’s what the coach had to say in his pre-match press conference ahead of Inter-Milan on Sunday evening at 20.45:“I don’t what kind of Inter side we’ll meet but based on the last two matches, they’ll be an attacking side as they’re still in the fight for third place and tomorrow is a derby which is always a very particular game and for us there’s only one result of any use and that’s three points. We have to win but that doesn’t we’ll play unbalanced.Inter’s objective is to stay in the race for Champions League football and Cagliari will want to play a big game as well but we should be the ones with more motivation. Objectively, tomorrow evening, whoever is on top of the table will have the title won.”“Tomorrow will be different to Wednesday because once we took the lead with Juventus in the lead as well, it was hard to see them conceding an equalizer, then with five minutes left the league opened up again. We have to win tomorrow otherwise we’ll give them the title.”“These are different days to the days before Wednesday as now we’re only a single point off them. We have the derby ahead of us which is always a special game and we have the chance to get past Juventus as well even of their destiny is still in their own hands.”“In order to keep our hopes alive, we have to win and Cagliari have to avoid defeat but we have to think about winning regardless of Juventus. Then we’ll get to the last day with the title race still open even if I don’t think the last game will affect the standings. And of course we have to get back to winning after we lost the last derby.”“To be at a point’s distance from Juventus with two games left after a season like this one, I think the players have really done something important, but we’ll wait until tomorrow evening before looking at the balance sheet.”“It’s fro today that the players have to get the right mindset for the gamer tomorrow and we have to get there as calm as possible. We’ll have to play with enthusiasm and courage knowing that we have the ability to win and then we’ll see what the other team does. There’s no need for excessive levels of tension because the team with something to lose is Juventus.”“From a tactical point of view, we have to play better than we have in the last few games. We’ll have to play better in attack and defense and we’ll have to be patient.”“I’ll evaluate the players’ condition today. Physically the team is fine and obviously being a point from the top going into the derby, motivation is not a problem. It’ll be a great evening tomorrow and abreat game to play and at 11 o’clock we’ll have the verdict. Tomorrow evening is the most important of the season.”“Abate was given a rest on Wednesday. He’ll be on the pitch tomorrow and he should be calm because a single mistake doesn’t change what I think of a player.”“Thiago Silva won’t play. Nesta will play with one of Bonera, Mexes or Yepes. Nesta is in good shape and it’ll be up to him if it’s his last derby.”“I’ve always felt the President has had faith in me. After losing the top spot there was disappointment and bitterness because we could see the league getting away from us while Juventus is achieving something important. Conte is doing a great job, he’s on top of the table and he’s up against Milan. At the moment they’re favorites and I send him my compliments regardless of how the season ends.”“Cagliari, like all the rest of the teams in the league, have a duty to do their best to get a result.”“I’ll decide tomorrow if Cassano will start or not, but I’m very happy with his return.”“I think that Delio Rossi will have regretted what happened a fraction of a second after the fact. I’m very sorry and you need to understand the situation and sometimes there needs to be more respect from the players towards the coach. It’s a stressful job. Everyone makes mistakes but I think the basis of everything, manners and respect are two fundamental things. Many would say that today’s society has changed for the worse and maybe we should go back to the past a little.”
