DANIELE BONERA TO THE MILAN CHANNEL: "We have to be careful of Parma"

March 14th, 2012 No comments
MILANELLO – Daniele Bonera last played for Parma during the 2005/2006 season. Too long ago perhaps for him to be considered an ex Parma man. Milan’s central defender spoke to the Milan Channel ahead of this weekend’s trip to Emilia Romagna: “Against Lecce we played great for 20 minutes at the start, and then they took some confidence. We can’t let that happen against Parma. Against Milan, all the other teams give something extra and Parma have always done well at home. We’ll have to be careful.”

SCORING FOR SCHOOLS

March 14th, 2012 No comments
MILANO – A press conference was held today to present the new edition of the Milan Schools Cup, a 5-a-side tournament for primary school students. The tournament starts on 24 March with the qualifying rounds that will lead to the finals on 26 May.The tournament hopes to present the game not only as a fun activity but also as an educational instrument for the children. The young players will have the chance to meet and play against children of their own age thereby strengthening community links. All games will take place at the Cimiano Sports centre on Via Don Calabria in Milan and today’s press conference included the participation of legendary coach Arrigo Sacchi as well as Milan Youth Sector head, Filippo Galli. The organizers of the event are predicting a large turnout of around 120 teams from more than 50 schools. The rules will have the team divided into 5 categories, one for every year of primary school. The teams will be made up of 5 boys or girls as well as 2 subs, all from the same school. Alongside the tournament, the teams will also have a chance to use their imaginations. Each team will have to present a picture entitled “Imagine your ball” with the top three drawings getting a prize. The Milan School Cup is organized in collaboration with AC Milan, the Lombardy regional council, the Province of Milan, the Mayor’s office and the Amateur Youth League with sponsorship provided by Intesa Sanpaolo, Pigna, Adidas, Sky, Mediaset Premium and Fly Emirates. “The practice of sport – said Filippo Galli, head of Milan’s Youth Development – plays a fundamental role in a person’s education and that’s why it’s important to incentivize the practice from a very young age. Sport allows you to understand your body and keep your mind in shape allowing you to pass physical tests but also the day to day difficulties that everyone meets.”“Our club promotes activities for Under 18’s in 5 continents and young players are the main part of a lot of our activities – said Mauro Tavola, head of sales for AC Milan – but of course Milano remains our starting point. We’re proud and happy to be able to contribute to the success of this project in or city.”Milan School Cup subscription is completely free and can be done via the following website: www.cimiano.it
